- conduct rules -

Generally no one likes this section, myself included.  Unfortunately there are always those out and about who are either out to mess with people, or too selfish or ignorant to care about anyone else's good time. Rules concerning player behavior in these games are as inevitable as death and taxes.

Rather than listing a lot of restrictive 'don'ts' here, We have decided to make it an easy tutorial on how to let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

- How to get Punted -

or vice-versa. this here is THE big critical sin.  What happens in character is just a game, and what happens out of character is unrelated to the game.  We have seen everything from a general decrease in enjoyment, all the way to full death of a game and channel due to the mixing of this.  This is the main root to most of the rules listed here, and the most inviolate.  It is also usually the most difficult to identify.  That being said, the best way is to police yourself.  If you are violating this rule, generally you are making your own enjoyment of the game less than it can be.

This is just bad form.  We are not perfect and the Infusion system will undergo changes as flaws are discovered.  If you have an issue or disagreement with an op or EO, take it to private message and discuss it rationally.  Demanding and threatening will get you nowhere, but we will do all we can to address concerns. Rule of thumb here, is that if you are reasonable, so are we.

Our OOC is pretty much a free-for-all.  We would very much like not to be forced to put any limits on discussion topics.  We are an adult game, and expect our players to conduct themselves with maturity.  If a debate becomes heated, drop the subject or take it to PM.  If you show a propensity for inflaming arguments or intentionally irritating others, we have no choice but to boot you to allow people to enjoy themselves.

This is a grey area, but if a nickname parks in our IC channel for days and days and does not participate, it will be removed from the channel forcibly.  New players are welcome to observe, but inform the staff that you are doing so.  Conversely, parking in the OOC channel is not really an issue.  Hang out in there whenever.

Self-explanitory, mainly I would like to note here that ultra-long in-character posts do not fall under this category, unless it is a recurring intro/description that uses more than 3 paragraphs.

Generally this stems from direct violation of the first rule.  Cliques corrode.  If someone is being intentionally singled out for abuse or neglect in IC, and/or abuse in OOC, it will not be tolerated.

As stated, we are an adult game and expect our players to behave as adults.  We are here to keep the channel clear of debris, and to initiate, moderate, and encourage Role play.  We are not here to solve your issues that are not game-related or mediate in debates or spats.  If someone is bothering you, use your ignore button. There will be none of staff taking sides in any personal matter regardless of our opinions on the subject.

*Note: Use of the term 'adult game' does not indicate that we are in any way a porn channel.  We often indulge in scenes that have adult content within tasteful reason, and also indulge in humor and comments in OOC and IC that some may find rude, insensitive, or vulgar.... This is what it is and we have no intention of changing it.   If it gets out of hand, politely ask it be toned down.  This applies to staff as well as everyone else.  There are no promises it will cease unless it is directly abusive to someone in channel.  Aside from being singled out, we will not coddle or baybysit.

- Guidelines for play -

Now this section is not so bad.  Here we will include tips and directions for getting in the game and having a good time.  Failure to follow these guidelines may or may not decrease the enjoyment and entertainment you can garner from our game.  Some are simple requests, some are simple suggestions.  Compliance or refusal is at the player's discretion.

+  Read everyone's posts In Character:  This helps keep your character up on things and less likely to take action that makes them look                                                             foolish.. or allows you to post foolish comments and actions by your character in better                                                               context if that is what you are trying to portray.

+  Interact with those who are trying to interact with you:   This is how things happen in this format.  Conversely, If your character  has                                                         no interest in what the others are doing, feel free to state and/or explain it.

+  Use the name of the character you are playing as your nickname:   This just makes things easier to follow for everyone else. If you want                                                       to play more than one character at a time, Kudos, but please use a separate window and nickname.

+  Discuss actions and such in PM amongst yourselves:   this can make the difference between an epic scene, or a confusing mess. If you are                                                             unclear of the sort of action that is going on, whether it affects your character directly or                                                                                        not, feel free to PM and ask for clarification, this goes for staff as well.

+  Don't take anything too seriously:   It's a game, and yes, a lot of hard work and thought go into everyone's characters, but it is just a                                                      game.  Learn to disconnect your real emotions from it and to find humor in your own bloopers.                                                                                   The exception to this is of course if you believe someone to be following any of the above tutorials on how to get the                                                     boot.  THAT is  serious, bring it to the attention of a staff member.

+  Ask, Ask, Ask:  Especially concerning characters and setting information.  We love to tell people about our setting, and most players                                                             love to go on (often in great length) about their characters.  Don't be shy about it.

+  Don't wait for someone else to post first:  If you have something you want to play out, jump in and play it out.  You would be                                                                 surprised how swiftly and often wallflowers peel away and join in if you get the ball rolling.

+  Play your character the way you want to play it:  Unless recruited to run amok with a purpose-built StoryLine character, this is always                                                         the best policy.  Playing your character how you think everyone else wants you to play him or  her is a good way to                                                           cause hum-drum.

+  Share Ideas:  This entire setting and system was built from doing just that.  In our experience, People who play in these sorts of games are                                                        singularly creative.  new ideas and plots.. even creatures, factions, and races will add to the depth and  Role-play opportunities                                                   of this game overall.

+  Have fun:  Otherwise, why are we here at all?

+  Create more than one character:  Character death happens, as do a myriad of other circumstances that preclude an individual character                                                       from general free-play either temporarily or permanently.  Having backups is not only a good idea, but it helps diversify the IC                                                community and lets you try new things.

+  Create and submit a character sheet:  This will open up other storylines and plots for your character to become involved in.

+  Drop snippets of goo Free-play that you witness in the mailbox:   This may lead to bonus XP, New items, New plots, or.. nearly anything                                                       else.  On top of that, it is entertaining.

+  Keep in mind that we will likely be perpetually under construction and review the key pages on this site from time to time to keep apace.
